I have had my photographs for sale in a local store for many months this year, but on September 6, I will be set up selling my work at my first art festival. Been researching art festivals for several years online and visiting. Here is information on the festival for anyone in the NE Ohio area that might want to come visit.

This is copied from the Canton Repository newspaper:

Downtown Alliance has been taking strides to rebirth itself as the lively spot it once was, and it’s well on its way. Alliance has set out on a five to ten year project where they will reshape the downtown area into Alliance’s arts district.

One of the newest additions to the arts district, now titled “The Crossing,” is the first annual AllianceFest. ArtsinStark,┬áStark county’s arts council, has partnered with the University of Mount Union to host the festival. Wilma Levengood, a Mount Union arts and entrepreneurship student and the festival’s organizer says, “The goal of AllianceFest is to be a stepping stone for people to come down to The Crossing to enjoy some live music, local food, enjoy the arts and do some unique shopping at the antique shops in the area.”

ArtistinStark, with the help of its communities, has successfully revamped many downtown areas including Canton, Massilon and Minerva. Levengood recognizes the success of ArtsinStark and its artistic contributions to surrounding areas by saying, “ArtsinStark has done a wonderful job revitalizing downtowns with the arts, and it is bringing people together as a community. Now, I am thrilled to see what the arts can do for Alliance.”
